    Hi All,

    I have been for my first consultation with the orthodontist. He recommends the Damon system to close some of the gaps in my front teeth. I am assured that it is the best system by far and dont mind the duration of the treatment.

    The only thing that I have my reservations about is the use of both fixed and removable retainers. I will have to have a wire bonded in at the back of my top arch. Will also have to wear removable retainers top and bottem.

    I had a Hawley adjustable retainer as a kid (I am 27 now). My teeth didnt move after I finished wearing the second retainer for this treatment. Do you think that there is any chance I can get the fixed retainer out after a year or so? Will teeth go back to their original position once a retainer is removed?

    Still in two minds about the treatment,
